The Student Development Board of Arihant College of Arts, Commerce & Science, Camp, Pune-01, organised a One-Day Workshop on Nirbhaya Kanya Abhiyan on Tuesday, 27th January 2026, from 9:30 a.m. onwards. Total 59 girl students from the Arts, Commerce, and Science streams participated in the programme.

The programme commenced with a session on “Empowerment, Self-Advocacy and Mental Strength in Women” conducted by Ms. Neha Deshpande, Community Health Associate, Muktaa Charitable Foundation. She guided the students on the importance of women’s empowerment in the present context, the role of self-advocacy in decision-making, and the need to develop mental strength in today’s competitive world. The session was highly informative and engaging, followed by an interactive question-and-answer session.

The second session focused on self-defence training for girl students. Demonstrations of various self-defence techniques were conducted for the participants. Mr. Vinod Kunjir of Vira Multisports Academy and Mardani Akhada guided the students on various self-defence techniques and methods. Practical training was provided to the participants, enabling them to understand and practise essential self-defence skills. The session was interactive and demonstrative, followed by a question-and-answer session. The programme was organised by Mr. Ramajan Varunkar, Student Development Officer under the guidance of Dr. Ashok Chaskar, Academic Director, AEF, and Dr. Kanchan Shinde, I/C Principal, ACACS. Mrs. Shital Salvi compered the programme, and Ms. Akanksha Pawar proposed the vote of thanks.
